Dust in the Wind

I found this on Ricks blog. It shows the destruction of Lansdowne Roads West Stand from some guys bedroom window. For those of you who don't know, Lansdowne Road has been the stadium where Irish rugby and soccer has been played since, well since time began!!!! Its in the process of being knocked down and a brank spanking new 60,000 seater stadium is being built in its place. Watch and reminisce!!

Any volunteers???

I actually thought this was a joke when I first seen it but apparantly they're legit!!

The Voluntary Human Extinction Movement is, and I quote, "a movement not an organization. It's a movement advanced by people who care about life on planet Earth. We're not just a bunch of misanthropes and anti-social, Malthusian misfits, taking morbid delight whenever disaster strikes humans. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Voluntary human extinction is the humanitarian alternative to human disasters." Don't they sound lovely.

Their site is unbelievable! They cover such topics as "Is parenthood bad for Earths Ecology?", "Who will pay for our Social Security when we're old?" and my personal favourite, "Didn't Hitler have the same ideas?".

They remind me of "The Judean Peoples Front" or "The People Front of Judea" from Monty Python!! I bet their leader is called Reg as well!!!

Just bear with me!!!!

OK! I've some explaining to do. I think the best way to do this is start from the start and explain the whole thing so we're all on the same page and it'll all make sense!!

I started this blog about a year and a half ago on Blogger. then a few months later I got this great Apple program called iWeb which let you make your own webpage, like this!!! That was all fine, i moved the blog from Blogger to there and it was all peachy. EXCEPT, and this is the basis for this whole thing, it couldn't do some of the things Blogger could do. So i moved it back to Blogger after a while but found the same problem with Blogger. It couldn't do some things that iWeb could do.

So i've come to the conclusion (thank god says you) that i'm gonna use both!! My blog will be on Blogger and my pictures etc will be on my iWeb page, with links between the two. I think its the simplest way. I hope its the simplest way.

So as you can see to your right>>>> i have a link to my pictures page and a few others. When you get to that page there's a link to my blog there as well.

Thats about it really. Now all we have to do is wait and see if it works!!!!

Back in the motherland.

Got back from San Diego in one piece. One nice thing that happened in the airport was that I got to see the sunrise just over the plane I was about to board. So I got to see the sunrise and set in San Diego.notice the time go by.

UP

DOWN

The flight to New York took just under 5 hours but they had a new entertainment system on the plane so I had great fun. the little screen in the headrest in front of me had loads of stuff to keep you occupied and I didn't notice the time go by. I had a 3 hour stoppover in New York which was much needed. When I checked in in San Diego the lady couldn't get me a seat for the New York flight but gave me a seat request slip. I was a tad worried as I wasn't guaranteed a seat and might have to spend some time in JFK. But luckily when I got there, I nussled up to the front of the queue and was told that all they had left was a window seat in the emergency exit aisle, which was ironically exactly what I wanted!! The flight home to Dublin was around 6 hours but seeing how I didn't go to bed the night before I left, I slept the whole way home.

Since then i've been at home in Blayney. I had the weekend to recover and since then i've been in Castlecool with Dad doing bits and pieces. Its nice to be somewhere clean and not having to guess where that weird smell is coming from and if where its coming from is still alive or dead. Oh and a real bed is nice as well. Not to mention the food!! Most of the people I was living with are home now as well. About 10 of the 30 are staying on but the rest are either home or coming home in the next few days. I'll be uploading the pictures to Flickr so i'll put a link up when i'm finished sorting through them.

Other than that there's not much else to tell. I finished the new Harry Potter book and was quite happy with it. Also went to see the Simpsons movie and was quite happy with it as well. Anyway, i'll get stuck into these photos and put a link up.
