Back Home

Just got back to Monaghan on Monday night for a well deserved break. Had a stand up meal as usual. I was looking forward to a nice sleep in but my parents forgot to mention the plumber that was coming at half 9. So i woke to the melodic sounds of a power drill destroying a wall across the hall. Its nice to be home!!!

So i'm going to be here for around three weeks or so. I'll be nipping up and down to Dublin the odd time to get my results and stuff like that. Its nice to be out of the city for a while though. Try and get back to normaitly after the exams. The weathers finally picked up and it seems summer has started at last.

We went up to Donegal on Tuesday and had a walk about. It was really warm so we stopped off at a beach on the way home. It was about 7 in the evening and we were the only people on this huge beach. I always find that amazing in Donegal. These incredible beaches that would be packed if they were in Spain or Italy, but are completely deserted here. Crazy!

ITS ALL OVER!!!!

Thats it! Its all over. Exams are finished for another year! Its been a long three weeks but feels worth it in the end.

We all went out last night to the Palace on Camden St and had a savage night. It was some craic. Music was crap at the start but got really good after a while. There was a huge speaker right in the area where we were sitting that was SO loud (i sound really old). So i cant really hear all that well this morning and theres a strange ringing in my ears. Apart from that it was great.

Have to give the aparment a huge clean. The parents are comin to stay tonight and i haven't cleaned the place in about a month cause of the exams and a severe case of laziness!

So i better get started.

End of an era!

Today is a very sad day. Jeris has moved out this morning and is headin back to Alabama as we speak (thats not Alabama in the picture though). Its the end of an era! Those last 8 months absolutely flew. Its weird seein her room empty. Ah well. C'est la vie.

In other news, my brother Barry (pictured lovingly above) had his meeting to see if he gets his PHD yesterday, and by jo didn't he get it!!! Go Barry! Its kind of ironic because his meeting started at 2 and i started an exam at 2 as well. Freaky isn't it? Anyone else gettin goosebumps? No? Just me then.

Anyway, as i mentioned i had an exam yesterday which went really well. it was probably the easiest exam of them all as he only wanted bullet points and practically told us what to study. However I did get a bit of a shock when i was told that our next exam is actually tomorrow and not i two days time. Lucky i was wearing my brown trousers, if ya know what i mean!!!

After a serious crammin session I got my work done and got on really well in the exam. Getting really pissed off with them now though. They've been dragging on too long now. Anyway i'll write again soon and keep ya posted.

Nearly There!!!

So as of today I only have 3 more exams to do, The hardest one was Marketing yesterday and it went better than expected. Well I was happy. Could've been a lot worse.

I went out to dinner last night with Dad and about 50 other people from the European Coldstore Federation for a meal in the Stephens Green club. It was great craic but all i got out of it was a bad hangover. I was sitting between two guys who reckoned they knew the most about brandy and basically challenged themselves to drinking match. (They say the youth of Ireland are heavy drinkers?!?!?!) So every now and then a glass of Brandy was put down in front of me followed with "Oh you'll love it Andrew, you'll simply love it!", which I didn't!

So i'm sitting here, still a but fuzzy, watching the visual diarreha that is the Eurovision Song contest. The only good thing about it is Terry Wogans commentary on BBC. The two presenters are the usual gobshites! The performance in between the votin bit is on now and let me tell ya, its no Riverdance!!

Until next time, have fun!

Inaugural Post

So here it is everybody. My first post on my first blog. I'm glad your here with me on this momentous occasion.

Anyway, the whole purpose of this blog is to document my movements over this summer as, fingers crossed, its gonna be a good one. The reason i'm goin to all this trouble is because last year, the 3 summer months i had off from college were stolen from me. Why you ask? Because i failed exams and spent the whole summer studying to make sure i still had a college to go to.

Not this year though!!! Oh no!

So i'm half way through my exams at the minute and they've been goin well so far. Fingers crossed i'll be all smiles on the 12th when i get my results.

Not only will i be discussing the unfolding events of my summer but i'll be telling you what music i'm listenig to, the books i'm reading or anything else that catches my eye, just to add a bit of variety to the blog.

Apart from this it should be rather interesting. My travels will be taking me to the far flung regions of Alabama (courtesy of Jeris), the bustling metropolises of Washington DC and Chicago and, god knows, there'll be some spur of the moment antics thrown in for good measure.

So strap yourselves in and prepare for the "excitment" of

ANDREWS SUMMER.
